About the Event

  1. Stance and Setup: Teaching the proper stance and positioning behind the plate is crucial for a catcher's success. This includes how to position the body, hands, and feet.
  2. Receiving: Emphasizing the techniques for catching and framing pitches effectively, making it easier for umpires to call strikes.
  3. Blocking: Instructing players on how to block pitches in the dirt to prevent runners from advancing and to keep control of the game.
  4. Throwing: Developing strong and accurate throwing mechanics to catch baserunners stealing and pick off runners.
  5. Communication: Teaching catchers how to effectively communicate with pitchers, infielders, and outfielders during the game.
  6. Game Situations: Simulating various game situations to help catchers make quick decisions and react appropriately on the field.
